Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a boldly comedic perspective before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was a teenager. In school, she concentrated on journalism and woman's studies. She also studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. When she graduated, she started to concentrate on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The other viral hit songs included Queef track, and the witty NYC Bitchecity tour. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was another initiative. Following a career that was successful as a musician, she decided to take on the role of actor. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
